UltraChenTV Tuesday S2 E5
★New way to support the show:
Subscribe! 2.99 (with ad) or 4.99 (without ad and emoticon)
Will create original emoticon for UCTV
Send your video for them to analyze
Subscription will prioritize your question for First Attack
Angry Hulk Chen lol
★EVO 2013 8th Game - player's choice
Melee, Skullgirls and Super Turbo race - Melee wins!
No expectation for such a huge amount of donation. Fantastic! FGC is awesome!
Sniping didn't happen. James Chen was disappointed lol
EVO will support Skullgirls' side tournament and stream it.
SG's community aspects: game creation, donation effort, voice actress etc.
Donation to ST was impressive, with presumably such a small number of people to donate
Melee is ST of Smash community, over 10 years old, still has huge community
Melee's combo system is interesting; mix-up in combo
UD hopes this happens again next year. It was unexpected extra hype on the last day!
★James Chen's opinion on Melee
It's really a fighting game.
More people will come to EVO?
Standard rules - how many stock, how long
Wobbling will be banned?
Ice Climber is not popular whether or now there is wobbling
JC "No reason to ban wobbling"
- how long does it take to get 300%
- people will get bored?
- MVC2 infinite on past EVO
UD doesn't like tournament rules in Melee
Melee community should decide their rules, whatever works for them, as much as possible
Melee is in EVO because of themselves.
APEX separation between Smash and FGC - strange
Hope EVO2013 will bring the two together.
Melee was called mini Marvel at EVO2007
They play Marvel footsies, cool to see!
★News on Twitch: Twitch-wide subscription - Twitch Turbo
No add, specific emoticon, different color
8.99 for month, should be 8.95, more people would get it...
What's the motivation to subscribe individual channels?
Might cut into the total subscription (JC)
Maybe a good experiment
Ad is important or not?
Issue of add-block
Because of AB, no add is not a good incentive...
Turbo does not benefit castors
- Balance between content creator and Twitch (They can't do anything without each other)
- Content producers are more important than maintaining Twitch itself.
- But we don't want to see Twitch going down like Own3D (?) did
Is the timing right? UltraDavid thinks it's a perfect timing.
They should support more individual subscriptions
Twitch's huge responbsibility: Make sure castors are happy.
- Subscriptions does not make huge income, that's a problem
- Need not only financial backing but also functional support
Twitch should survive anyway!
